Sam Pawsey – Senior Sales Executive of Royal Wolf Timaru Office
A DIYer with farming community roots, Sam Pawsey is Royal Wolf’s man from the South in charge of all things to do with shipping containers in Timaru.
Prior to joining the Royal Wolf team in August 2018, Sam worked as Store Manager at Vodafone’s Timaru retail branch before “going out on a limb” to try contract work for Inland Revenue as a Community Compliance Officer.
He knows the local area well and what the locals want, which is key to his role as Royal Wolf Senior Sales Executive.
“My day-to-day role involves all kinds of things. The general running of the branch, managing stock, dealing with transporters, managing sales and customers, and attending or working at events.
“Demand has continued to increase in Timaru and South Canterbury so having product on the ground along with my local knowledge means we can service customers more efficiently and have the product they need.”
Sam says the best part of his job is meeting people and being able to supply a great product to local businesses.
“Dealing with the people, both customers and co-workers, is the highlight of the job. Having a happy customer is the goal at the end of the day.”
Sam has a love for the South Island like no other. He loves to travel to some of New Zealand’s most beautiful spots with family and friends, including Lake Benmore in the Mackenzie Country and Lake Opuha near Fairlie.
And when he’s not travelling, you’ll find him in DIY mode working on his house.
“Having your own house is a lot of work and I spend a lot of time doing home renovations,” he says.
“It’s great to be able to do the work yourself, and even if you’re not too sure about how to do something, you can always figure it out.”
