New partnership enhances health and safety management

Totika Safety

Safety is one of Royal Wolf’s highest priorities, and a key part of this is continuing to drive improvement of health, safety, and environmental management.

Our latest enhancement is becoming a Tōtika prequalification organisation. Tōtika was developed by Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ) to assess and verify the health and safety capabilities of contractors.

“The great thing about Tōtika is that it’s a single framework that brings all health and safety pre-qualifications together under one umbrella to make the process more efficient and cost effective for everyone,” says General Manager Safety and Environment, Eddie Bugajewski.

Mr Bugajewski says additionally, the Tōtika feedback reports will strengthen the company’s processes and procedures and help make the workplace safer for its team, customers, and suppliers.

“Initiatives like Tōtika complement our other safety procedures including our Daily Safety Huddles that focus on key topics such as safe lifting and carrying, driver awareness, and line of fire injuries.

“The team discuss these topics, safe work methods, and identifying related hazards and finding solutions to eliminate those hazards. Then we wrap up each Safety Huddle with a series of stretches to limber the team up for the day.”
