New HR role key during COVID-19 crisis and beyond

During New Zealand’s COVID-19 lockdown, Royal Wolf appointed HR specialist Ella de Colville to support staff during what was a challenging and uncertain time. As the Human Resources Business Partner for the New Zealand operation, Ella provided essential advice to staff on the use of leave, working from home, and vital employment law guidance. Her role was key to ensuring the management team had all the necessary support, information and tools to do their job effectively throughout the Lockdown. “The team worked very hard during Lockdown, so I took the time to call and connect with them to help normalise the situation as much as possible while also helping to relieve any anxiety or trepidation they were feeling. “I believe we should all congratulate ourselves on weathering a difficult storm. I’ve been so proud of our team and their commitment to their roles. It makes me proud to work for Royal Wolf.” Now, as the country begins to settle into the ‘new normal’, Ella’s role will involve building effective relationships with Royal Wolf’s People Leaders, improving engagement levels, and further developing the recruitment model to enhance business outcomes. Paul Creighton, Executive General Manager, said: “We believe Ella’s experience in employment law and the empathy she showed for staff during COVID lockdown will make her a great addition to the Wolf Pack.” Ella is based in Auckland and enjoys doing Crossfit and Yoga in her spare time. In her new role she will be based at Royal Wolf’s Head Office in East Tamaki.
