The Challenge

With the expansion of bustling Auckland food and entertainment hub Ponsonby Central, a pedestrian access way was needed to ensure members of the public and workers could walk safely around the perimetre of the construction site.

The Solution

Located in a high foot-traffic area, and on a busy bend along a major roadway, two Royal Wolf hoardings are placed together to form a covered container walkway.

Royal Wolf has supplied similar hoarding constructions for high profile projects including Scentre Group's $790 million Westfield Newmarket mall development and a hoarding tunnel opposite Auckland’s Britomart train station while the Commercial Bay development was being built.

On a number of sites where hoardings are used, other container products such as site offices have been stacked on top of the walkways to save on space. In this way, hoardings and our other Building and Construction range of products, play an important part in ensuring a site, and the surrounding area, continues to function as efficiently and normal as possible.

The Result

The high-profile Ponsonby hoardings provide a safe passageway for pedestrians which is one of the main challenge’s facing contractors working on busy inner-city sites.

It meant the footpath did not have to be closed and from a workflow and health and safety perspective, the container hoardings help create a highly efficient work site which means workers can get on and get the job done.
