Shipping Container Couture in East Tamaki

The world of high fashion and shipping containers collided during a glamorous photoshoot set against the back drop of containers at Royal Wolf New Zealand’s head office.

Luxury New Zealand fashion label, Moochi, photographed the clothes from its spring collection at Royal Wolf’s Customer Service Centre in East Tamaki with the containers used to enhance the garments and their bold colours.

Bailey Mark, Moochi’s Marketing and eCommerce Manager, took inspiration from an international industrial fashion shoot and the industrial setting was the perfect location.

“The Moochi spring campaign is femme athleisure meets sports luxe. It’s a collection inspired by strong architectural lines and a modern, minimalist aesthetic. It features draw cords, feminine mesh detail and cinched waists and these contrasted beautifully with the strong corrugated steel of the containers,” she says.

“On a very practical level, the shoot was effortless because our dressing room was set up in a container on site which allowed for quick, seamless wardrobe and makeup changes.”

Images from the Moochi photo shoot will be seen across a wide range of marketing and media channels and on the label’s website.

Royal Wolf Executive General Manager, Paul Creighton, says it is always exciting when people approach us with new and creative ideas about how they want to use containers.

“Royal Wolf provide containers for all sorts of projects – from container walkways and pop-up cafes through art installation containers on the Wellington waterfront – and a fashion shoot collaboration is a new one for us but the results were fantastic.”
