Delivery of Storage Containers and Portable Buildings in New Zealand

Royal Wolf has developed strong contacts within the transport industry to ensure the safe and timely delivery of your storage container.

For standard products that are readily available, Royal Wolf can usually arrange delivery of containers within 24 hours to 48 hours. Products that require modifications and accessories will require more time. Product availability and modification timelines can be discussed with your Royal Wolf representative prior to placing your order.

There are several factors that will need consideration prior to the delivery of your Royal Wolf container product.

Do you need to deliver your container within a constricted space?

The side loader truck delivers the container by picking it up from the trucks tray at each end of the unit and lowering it onto the site directly next to the trucks’ tray. This method is ideal for delivery of containers that need to fit into constricted spaces. It is important to consider which way the container should be loaded onto the truck as it can only be unloaded from the right hand (drivers’) side.

  • 6m Side Loader Clearance Requirements:
  • Height – 4.5m (15ft)
  • Width – 6m (20ft)
  • Length – 10m (33ft)
  • 12m Side Loader Clearance Requirements:
  • Height – 4.5m (15ft)
  • Width – 6m (20ft)
  • Length – 16m (53ft)
Do you have obstacles that prevent access by a truck eg. Fences?

Are there obstacles on your land that would prevent access by a truck eg. Fences?

Crane truck delivery is likely to be the best option for you. This delivery method is used when neither a tilt tray or side loader truck can access the site. Crane truck delivery allows for containers to be delivered over obstructions such as fences.

Important things to consider when arranging the delivery of your container

Direction of the container doors

Direction of the container doors

You will need to advise which direction the container should be loaded onto the truck – either doors to cabin or doors to rear. This will ensure your shipping container or portable building will be in the best position once delivered to your location. Please consider where you would like the container positioned and what direction you would like it to face. A Royal Wolf representative can help you to determine whether doors to cabin or doors to rear would be most appropriate for your container delivery.

Surface the site

Surface of the site

In order to ensure the correct operation of your container or portable building (including the efficient opening and closing of doors), it is best to ensure that your container sits on a level surface. The containers are often best kept by being placed on sleepers or concrete pads. Your Royal Wolf representative can assist you in determining the best solution for your needs.

Safety is the number one priority

Safety is the number one priority

To ensure a safe and efficient delivery, it is important to advise Royal Wolf of any obstructions that may impede the delivery process including overhead wires and overhanging branches. This will assist in determining the most appropriate type of truck to be used for the delivery of your container and will negate the need for multiple delivery attempts.
